Requirements Engineer

In this role, you will be responsible for defining, analyzing, and managing system and functional requirements throughout the software development lifecycle for ECUs. You will also handle requirement changes and ensure proper documentation and traceability.

• Manage changes to functional requirements
• Use requirements management tools such as DOORS for requirement tracking and documentation
• Plan testing activities for different product versions
• Create detailed test cards
• Manage test catalogues
• Ensure end-to-end traceability between system requirements, software components, test cases, and change requests
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (system, software, hardware, and testing) to align on requirement understanding and implementation

Technical Skills & Knowledge

• Functional requirements engineering
• Software parameters and datasets
• Test catalog development
• HMI simulation
• In-vehicle communication protocols: CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet
• ECU systems and concepts: ICAS, Combi, ESC, etc.

Tools

• Requirements management: DOORS, Codebeamer, Polarion
• Test management: TMP

Managerial Skills

• Test planning and tracking
• Team coordination and stakeholder communication
• Technical issue identification and resolution

Qualifications: 

• 2+ years of experience in automotive ECU calibration and/or software data container management.
• Solid understanding of ECU software architecture, communication protocols (CAN, LIN, UDS), and vehicle systems.
• Experience with OEM-specific development processes (VW Group, SEAT,etc.) is a strong advantage.
• Experience working within structured development cycles and change management frameworks.
• Fluent in English. German language skills are a plus.
